Adventures in cloth diapering.

Back when I was pregnant, we started the whole should we/shouldn't we cloth diaper debate. It hit us pretty hard when we read that one child goes through about 6000 diapers by age 2, and it takes 500 years for just 1 disposable diaper to decompose! We also found out that diaper rash isn't typically an issue for cloth diapered babies, and then we thought about all the money we could save (we're talking thousands!).

But we still weren't really sure, cloth diapering still seemed like a big undertaking. So before Madeline was born we calculated how many diapers we would need to get her through size 1 disposables and bought them with the plan to switch to cloth once they were finished. But I'm a cautious person. I'm the person that slowly gets into the water instead of just jumping right in. So, I decided to try just one cloth diaper before we completely dove into full time cloth diapering. And just my luck, she pooped in that one lonely cloth diaper.

This is how it all went down.....

Super happy in her cloth diaper.  (Charlie Banana)
