Since I fell off the blogging bandwagon, I thought I'd do a little recap of my third trimester. For me, the third tri was certainly the hardest. I started to get swollen, my hands/fingers started to ache (trying to open a jar even became painful), at the very end sitting on the couch even became uncomfortable. But the worst was an intermittent and unpredictable shooting nerve pain I had to one toe. The debilitating pain came one day out of nowhere and reoccured until almost the end of my pregnancy. It got so bad that I was sent to the ER and to a neurologist. Both avenues left me helpless and only armed with painkillers.
My advice to any soon to be mamas out there having this issue is to head to your nearest acupuncturist! I don't know how I would have made it without having numerous acupuncture appointments. For any mamas in Chicago, I highly recommend Mitch Harris at
Eastern Integrative Health.
Has anyone else had nerve pain like this during your pregnancy?
